Thank you for visiting our blog! In case you don't know us, our names are Tina and Amanda and we're mother and daughter portrait photographers located in Loomis, California. We absolutely love what we do and we hope you enjoy it as well! Most of our entries will consist of snapshots and previews of recent sittings. But every once in a while we'll sprinkle in some of our others joys. Family, friends, new recipes, and random things that inspire us are more than likely to make an appearance. We love comments, so feel free to leave them for us! And please don't forget that these images are property of Simply Portraits, so please enjoy them on the blog and don't copy them.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, we can't wait to tell yours on our blog! :)

Fireworks, food, family.. and thanksgiving

First of all, we wanted to let you know we'll be out of town this weekend to spend 4th of July with family and friends. Hopefully you'll be doing the same! We get together with our Raibley side of the family every summer, and we have so many things to celebrate this year! Two brand new babies, a 60th wedding anniversary, weddings and engagements that bring new faces into the family. We are so blessed and have so many things to celebrate and be thankful for. Not only the independence and freedom of our great nation but for what that independence and freedom give us each day. I am so grateful that we live in a nation where a mother and daughter can not only become photographers, but open their own studio. Even today there are so many countries where people are not only deprived of the right to choose their own career path, but be able to do so in the technological world that we live in today. In economic times like this it can be hard to remember to be thankful for the country that might not be on our good side. We know it will pass, but in the meantime it can be hard to be grateful. I know, it's not Thanksgiving, you'll get that rant in November, but for now just remember to be thankful for the country that we live in, the people we're surrounded by, and the God-given freedom not everyone is privileged to the way we are. (:

Hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend!
-Amanda
